The Things I'm Not Yet

There’s a crowd in my head: all the things I’m not yet.
Words without paper, pages
sighing in summer forests, gardens
where builders stub out their rubble
and plastic oozes its sweat.
All the things I’m but I’m not yet.

The lonely window in midwinter
with the whine of tea on an empty stomach,
the gorgeous shush of restaurant doors
and their interiors, always so much smaller.
Not the smell of the newsprint, the blur
on my fingertips — my fame.

My hand,
that small one without a mark of work on it,
the one that's strange to the washing-up bowl
and doesn't know Fairy Liquid for whiskey.
Not yet the moment of the arrival in taxis
at daring destinations, or my being alone at stations
with the skirts of my fashionable clothes flapping
and no money for the telephone.

Not yet the moment when I can give you nothing
so well-folded it fits in an envelope —
a dull letter you won't reread.
Not yet the moment of your assimilation
in that river flowing westward: rivers of clothes,
of dreams, an accent unlike my own
saying to someone I don't know: darling...

Smile

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest! If you must-but never quit.
Life is queer, with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might of won if he'd stuck it out;
Stick to your task, though the pace seems slows-
You may succeed with one more blow.

Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt-
And you may never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when things seem worse that YOU MUSN'T QUIT

They say, curiosity killed the cat.
B
ut frankly speaking, aren't we all
guilty of that? We all have questions,
we'd like to have answers to, but
cannot find. It may not be to our
advantage, but no stone will be left
unturned, or left behind. If you're
looking for the proper answers, don't
veer off course. Just be certain it's
coming, form the right source. Most
importantly, make sure what you're
being told, is true. Then beyond a
doubt, you're going to find out and
all your wondering days, will be
through!

John Cage

The first question I ask myself when something doesn't seem to be beautiful is why do I think it's not beautiful. And very shortly you discover that there is no reason.

Freedom

Freedom to love again,
moving to another kingdom and starting all over again,
only that this time you will have the freedom from learning from past mistakes,
so be prepared by not stepping on the same stone again,
have the freedom to leave whenever you are begining to feel unhappy again,
have the freedom to choose love,
and not to be chosen by love,
only then you will have the freedom,
freedom to love and to be loved again.
